Spring Branch ISD (SBISD) is proud to celebrate two Spring Woods High (SWH) students who are already helping shape the future of education.
Rising seniors Lizbeth Lopez and Narhalie Padilla represented SWH at the Educators Rising/TAFE National Conference this summer in Portland, Oregon, after qualifying through the Texas state competition. Their appearance marked a historic milestone as the first time Spring Woods students advanced to the national competition.
Competing alongside more than 3,800 students from across the country, Lopez and Padilla earned a Blue-Ribbon recognition in the Interactive Bulletin Board category—the highest ribbon distinction awarded in the event.
Their success reflects the strength of SBISD's Career and Technical Education (CTE) programming, which provides students with more than 26 career pathways aligned to high-demand careers. Through the Education and Training pathway, students develop leadership skills, gain hands-on experiences and explore careers that prepare them to become tomorrow's teachers, mentors and education leaders.
The students were guided by educator Jasmine Randolph, whose leadership and mentorship helped prepare them for success on the state and national stages.
"Watching our students compete and excel on the national stage is an incredible reminder of what's possible when students are passionate about making a difference," Randolph said. "Lizbeth and Narhalie represented Spring Woods and SBISD with professionalism, creativity and heart."
In addition to competing, the students explored Portland, connected with aspiring educators from across the nation, and gained valuable insight into the teaching profession while creating lifelong memories.
As SBISD continues to invest in preparing students for successful futures, achievements like these highlight the district's commitment to growing the next generation of educators from within its own classrooms.
