Helping students stay connected to school and express their creativity is at the heart of two projects at Terrace Elementary.
Congratulations to Terrace’s recipients of 2026 J. Landon Short Mini Grants for Educators!
Grant recipients | Project |
|---|---|
Hayley Davis, Jennifer Keneda, Melanie Dulworth and Brooke Bramlett | Every Day Counts: Building a Culture of Attendance at Terrace Elementary |
Kara Pirtle | Creation in Clay |
Every Day Counts: Building a Culture of Attendance at Terrace Elementary will support efforts to make regular attendance a shared priority. Each day at school gives students opportunities to strengthen their skills, build friendships and feel connected to their school community.
Creation in Clay will offer students a hands-on opportunity to explore art and creative expression. Working with clay encourages children to experiment, solve problems and bring their ideas to life.

Together, these projects support a school experience where students can feel a sense of belonging and discover new ways to learn and create. They also show how community support can help educators turn thoughtful ideas into opportunities for children.
